Like many composers today Stephen Roberts enjoys the craft of composition and has written scores for media and film, as well as popular music idioms.
His first forays into light music were in the 1980s with the Stephen Roberts Orchestra broadcasting music for BBC Radios 1 & 2. He created and introduced three series of BBC Radio 4 shows for the Fine Arts Brass which were also broadcast on Radio 2.
He has created orchestrations for David Stewart of Eurthymics, Leo Sayer, Gerry Marsden, Posh Spice, Westlife and many others. He has written music for film, including work by Ken Russell, as well as music for various television shows and radio dramas. Some samples are clickable below:
