A concert on 30th May 2008 saw the premiere of composer & soloist Stephen Roberts' reconstruction of Mozart's 'Horn Concerto in Eb No. 0'. It was described as a ‘triumph’ by Birmingham Post music critic Christopher Morley and the event was covered on BBC Radio 4 TODAY and BBC World Service International News. In the run-up to the concert, Stephen visited a Year 8 music class at Bishop Perowne school in Worcester, together with a string quartet of fellow ESO musicians, to talk about his reconstruction and play extracts from it. The pupils were encouraged to work on their own compositions, and some of these were discussed and performed a week later.
